Taigh Leosaval is a beautifully restored former croft which sits at the foot of the hill after which it is named.

It is in a secluded position among the North Harris hills, a short distance from the stunning Huisinish beach. The house is situated just west of Amhuinnsuidhe and enjoys a totally private, secluded position with the wild hills behind, and looking towards the sea and the Isle of Taransay. It is wonderful to be able to walk straight up into the hills where you can roam for miles with only deer and eagles for company. The views from the top of our hill are spectacular and on a clear day the dramatic shape of St Kilda can be seen rising from the sea.

The house is on a tiny road which winds along the peninsula to the end of the road at Huisinish beach, once voted "Best Beach in Britain" by a national newspaper. The views across to the Isle of Scarp and beyond are indescribably beautiful, and there is another white sandy 'secret' beach that can only be reached by a footpath up and over the hill, about an hour's walk.

Taigh Leosaval is the perfect place to find peace and to see incredible wildlife. We often see eagles from the kitchen over breakfast! It's a cosy, comfortable house and we have enjoyed using the local tweed to make curtains, as well as displaying artwork from the creative artists who live on the island.
